Local chief inspector Seasonal Greeting and reassurance to the local community |

Dear Residents, I’m Chief Inspector Mahmood, and I have the privilege of leading Neighbourhood Policing here in Barking and Dagenham. This is not just where I work—it’s a community I care deeply about. Throughout my career, I’ve proudly served on the frontline, and my commitment remains the same: to keep our borough safe and to build trust between the police and the people we serve. As we approach the New Year, I want to send my heartfelt seasonal greetings to you and your families. Thank you for the support, conversations, and partnership we’ve shared throughout the year. Together, we’ve achieved a lot, and I’m excited about what we can accomplish in the year ahead.
Our Commitment to You Your priorities shape our work. We’re taking firm action against crime and anti-social behaviour, but we know enforcement alone isn’t enough. That’s why we’re working closely with Barking and Dagenham Council, housing providers, and local partners to prevent problems before they start and create lasting improvements for everyone. This month, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of you at community events and listening to what matters most. Your voices guide us, and we’re committed to being visible, approachable, and accountable in every neighbourhood. Violent crime and violence against women and girls remain key priorities for us. We understand the impact these crimes have on lives, and we’re working tirelessly with support services and community groups to protect victims and bring offenders to justice.
This Year’s Highlights Here are some achievements we can all be proud of:
Get Involved We want policing to reflect what matters most to you. Please connect with your local ward team and help shape the future of neighbourhood policing. Through Met Engage, you can meet your local officers, share your views, and access key information and advice. | ||
